Song of Achilles (BOOK REVIEW)

Song of Achilles

“He smiled, and his face was like the sun.”

I find it hard to find books that have profoundly moving prose like Song of Achilles does. Every moment that you read it feels like you are being transported to the side of Achilles and Patroclus as they struggle through the various challenges that separate and interweave them. As someone who does not read romance too often, I was worried this book would not catch my interest- but immediately Miller establishes a deeply intriguing world filled with wonder and pain that draws you into the heart-breaking romance awaiting you.

From the perspective of Patroclus- we are introduced to Achilles and quickly fall into a gentle and tormenting romance that strings you along to the very end where you meet your untimely heartbreak at the death of Patroclus

“Have you no memories?'
I am made of memories.
'Then speak.”

This book is truly and genuinely beautiful and I highly suggest that anyone who loves romance, Greek mythology, and beautifully written stories.

5/5
