Martyr (Chapter 4)
Porter’s Emporium had large dark double wooden doors with maroon velvet curtains that covered the windows. The shop also had two large sales windows filled with magical items of all sorts, but velvet curtains blocked the view inside the store.
Cire didn’t pause and simply walked into the shop without hesitation. A small chime of a bell rang as the group passed through the door into the shop. Plush red carpet cushioned their shoes as they took a moment to look around. The walls were painted a deep purple with hand painted white orchids that made a beautiful but slightly overwhelming pattern.
The store was filled wall to wall with tall black shelves that were filled to the brim with various items. Morgan had trouble identifying any of them because of how tightly they were packed but he noticed a skull with crystal in the mouth in a glass case off to the side. It was the only item that was sealed from the visitors of the store.
“Welcome to Porter’s Emporium!” A clear and confident voice called from across the store as a man in a long black paisley trench coat entered the room. He wore a purple dress shirt and black vest and his pants seemed to be authentic black leather. Morgan could practically smell the wealth dripping off of this man. His auburn hair was loose over his shoulders. His smile seemed almost charming but it quickly faded as his eyes skimmed the group and landed on Cire.
