I Drown (POEM)

My darling Let go I am not long for this world The waves tug at my feet And I’m afraid I will drown soon There’s a symphony in the riptide It lures me to dance amongst the ripples To give my air away as I float into its grasp Let go I am not long for this world The riptide tugs at my hips I’m afraid I will drown soon Weight is fleeting and freeing Free falling and free floating in an endless pull I am drawn away To be a martyr to the morality of people who did not morally love my heart like they loved my flesh Their hands hold my skin but free my soul when the blood runs from my mouth Let go I am not long for this world The sea tugs at my chest I’m afraid I will drown soon Strip me bare of skin, muscle, bone, and names and you will see nothing But I see and feel it all Your hands dig to reach me but the earth you pulled out of me was only my foundation Home is out of your reach A place you never truly reached for Douse the house in gasoline Let go I am not long for this world The silence tugs at my face I will drown myself soon Let me go I drown
