Martyrs Chapter 4 Sneak Peak (MARTYRS)




Massive green buildings stretched up from the mountain side like emerald trees, their leaves were large white and gold viewing areas and roofs, some of which connected to each other via long marble bridges. At the centre of the large town was a tall white castle that dug into the mountain side, it’s jade polished surface shone in the early morning sunlight. The towers of the castle rose in huge spires with staircases winding around the outside. The most prized prisoners in the northern colony were held in those towers, Cire having been one of
them. 

This was a city of the rich. A city of kings. But most of all, a city of magic. 

Rothas capitalized on the selling of “magical arts”. It was magic that wasn’t necessary to living but it sure was fun to use for the public. The school of magical arts was where one would study visual illusions, magical trickery, charming, and mischief that could get you in all sorts of trouble- but because of its prestigious reputation the students were very strict on how their magic was taught and used. 

Unlike Andul- an underground city dedicated to the teachings and protection of practical magic, Rothas was more flamboyant about its uses for magic.
